Yes. Employees order their Thatch Card from their Thatch dashboard, and a card is shipped to them.
Thatch verifies that purchases are eligible health expenses. If something doesn't qualify, we first try to recover it from the employee. Anything still outstanding shows up on a year-end report, and you can decide whether to recover it from the employee or report it as taxable income.
Not yet. Employees can spend on care for anyone in their household, but the card is issued to the employee.
No, Thatch Card is a Visa debit card that draws on the money already in an employee's Thatch balance. Employees can't overspend it.
Occasionally, a retailer won't take the Thatch Card. In those cases, employees can pay with their own card and submit the receipt in their dashboard. Thatch reimburses them once it's approved.
Employees can temporarily freeze their Thatch Card or cancel it and reorder a new one if it's been lost. Revealing card details, setting a PIN, or activating a card all require two-factor authentication.
